A scenographic installation composed of asynchronous mechanical systems that continuously attempt—and fail—to construct representations of nature. At its centre, a robotic quadruped struggles to stand within a shallow pool of water, while a motorized backdrop repeatedly attempts to deploy a blurred landscape image. A synthetic scent diffuses the odour of a damp field. Through malfunction, environmental conditioning, and exposed theatrical machinery, the work examines the unstable relationship between nature, technology, and acts of representation, suspending the audience between empathy and alienation, mimesis and exposed mechanism.
